Whoa, there… For the record, the book was not actually “banned” — just removed from the curriculum. There’s a very important semantic difference here. If a student decides to read the book in school on their own time, there would be no recrimination. Which is a good thing. Outrage is somewhat misplaced here. Shame on the NYT for inaccurate reporting.
